A charity, Beatbullying, has launched an anti bullying initiative aimed at cutting the number of teenage suicides.
Sarah Sophia, from Gwendor Avenue, Crumpsall, said: "I was bullied when I was 13 and 14 by a boy at my secondary school. I was getting abusive messages and instant messages on the internet and on Facebook. I had to take a lot of time off school and I had panic attacks and anxiety. I went to a seminar about improving my confidence and it really help me overcome my problems.

"I have just had a lot of practice at believing I can change something negative into an incredible learning experience.
A poll of 2,000 youngsters aged 11 18 found nearly 60 per cent admitted they had been involved in bullying. Abusive text messages, prank phone calls, and offensive messages or pictures posted on internet sites are increasingly common.
"My book aims to be something teenagers can go to for advice when they face a problem.
18, is using her experiences to write a book about overcoming the problem. The student has helped create an advice manual which deals with internet harassment and peer pressure.
She credits a positive thinking technique called Neuro Linguistic Programming for helping her gain the confidence to confront the bullies and hopes that writing about her experiences will help other youngsters.
"I also think positive thinking can be of tremendous help to teenagers and the challenges they face there is a big need for it and I'd like to see it adopted in schools as part of students' personal development."
